Materials, beads, tools
By EPCOS
FERRITES
USING THIS LIST
A ferrite part no. consists of three main fields:
1st. eg. B65517 gives core family and size.
2nd. eg. D160
number gives AL value of pot- PM- or RM-
core or size of bead or toroid. If number is
absent, core is ungapped.
In E cores it gives gap in µm.
In pot-, PM and RM- cores:
Letters F, N or T indicate threaded centre hole.
J, E & W indicate no centre hole.
A, C, D, K & L indicate centre hole with no thread.
K, L & P indicate coated ring core, A is uncoated.
In bobbins and formers this letter indicates style,
material or modification state.
3rd. eg A48
gives material type no. and tolerance:
X = no tolerance indicated
G = 2%
K = 10%
Y = +40-30%
A = 3%
R = +30-20%
J = 5%
U = +80-0%
If bobbin, this no. gives sections in bobbin.
In ferrite listings, the AL value of twin-hole beads, ring cores and
ungapped cores is not included in the type no. and is listed
separately.
For adjustable cores a colour is given to indicate the adjuster
required. When using an adjuster a threaded core will be
required. 9 & 11mm non-SMD cores which have threaded
mountings.) Where washers are specified, type -5000- is used
internally to limit bobbin movement, -200*- or -5002- are used
to insulate core from PCB. Bobbin window winding areas are
given per section in sq. mm.
The AL value is the inductance of one turn in nH
(= 0.001µH). Inductance of coil = AL x N²
PLEASE QUOTE THE FULL PART NUMBER
WHEN ORDERING.
